Artist statement
The work is assembled, not composed. We keep the fragments that refuse to settle. A song is a room you can re-enter, but never in the same weather.
A brief accounting
Caelen Collective is a shifting studio practice. Members are not listed because the list would be a lie by next season. The recordings began in rented rooms and continued in ones that were not supposed to be used as studios.
Working method
Prefer the unlabelled box. Prefer the take in which someone forgot the structure. Prefer the image that crops the face out of the frame. Mystery is not a costume; it is what remains when you stop explaining.
